Want an interesting fact? If you read the Bible 15 minutes a day for a year, you would read it cover to cover. The Once a Day Bible for Women is some thing that can help accomplish this. It has the Bible arranged into 365 daily readings in which part of the Old Testament, part of the New Testament, a Psalm, and a Proverb appear. At the end of the daily reading is a short inspirational thought. Here is an example.....REFLECTION on Proverbs 25:2 - "God rewards those who earnestly seek Him", (Hebrews 11:6). That tells us (1) that He is hard enough to find we need to seek earnestly, and (2) that it won't ultimately be a frustrating search. In fact, this holds true in every aspect of faith - any promise, any prayer, any hint of wisdom or insight we want to gain. God's treasures await those who seek Him and persist in faith. The whole seek-and-find process is designed to draw us into a closer relationship with Him. The more we pursue Him, the more of Him we will find.
I downloaded this e-book bible...would LOVE to have it in print!!!

This Is Your Captain Speaking:
My Fantastic Voyage Through Hollywood, Faith and Life
About
the Book
The
remarkable life, career, and faith journey of the star of The
Love Boat and The
Mary Tyler Moore Show.
For
16 years, millions of Americans welcomed Gavin MacLeod into their
living rooms every Saturday night. This veteran of stage and screen
transformed himself from a seasoned character actor into the
leading, lovable father-figure of The
Love Boat at
the height of TV’s boom years. For more than 30 years, Gavin
MacLeod has served as the global ambassador for Princess Cruises.
Speaking to thousands of travelers each year, and signing hundreds of
autographs at every port, he stands poised to celebrate his amazing
journey with a look back at the golden era of American television.
The consummate storyteller, Gavin shares his fondest memories of
meeting and working with countless stars, such as Cary Grant, Steve
McQueen, Gregory Peck, Bette Davis, Frank Sinatra, Ethel Merman, Ella
Fitzgerald, Ronald Reagan, Milton Berle, and Fred Astaire. From his
humble theatrical beginnings in upstate New York, to Radio City Music
Hall and on to Hollywood, Gavin MacLeod was on the fast track to
success. However, a few hard life lessons—like dealing with a
divorce—taught Gavin that the key to happiness was only through a
deep faith in God, and he feels his work for Christ is more important
than any award. Three years later his remarriage proved that a great
struggle can culminate in a happy ending.
My
Review
I
was interested it the actors life but felt the the writing was
amateur I
did enjoy some of the stories but he seems to write as if he were
speaking and does seem to ramble on at times. Don't
get me wrong, a lot of those stories were very interesting; however,
the stories seemed to go on and on and on while he discusses the ups
and downs of his career and of his personal life. Not
until the last couple chapters did he talk about his faith. I guess I
was hoping with the subtitle of My Fantastic Voyage Through
Hollywood, Faith & Life, that we would get a little bit more of
the story of his faith walk and
conversion
to Christianity. That story just seemed very glossed over. Though
sometimes the book gets bogged down with the details, the story of
MacLeod's life is inspiring and encouraging. He has made mistakes in
his life, but God redeemed his life.
Would
recommend to those who like Galvin MacLeod as an actor.

By
Miriam
Drennan
Book Description
Come
to the garden alone, and fill your soul with His presence.
There's
nothing on earth like the peace and loveliness of a magnificent
garden. It's the place where Adam and Eve first fellowshipped with
God, and where you, too, can escape from this chaotic world into His
loving arms of beauty and serenity. Devotions
from the Garden takes
you to that place where senses are restored as dewdrops settle and
butterflies gather to witness the miracles of God's creation bloom
and grow. These ninety devotions explore the parallels of life with
the elements of the garden to help you see God, to sense His
presence, to soothe your soul, and to rest in knowing He is with you
throughout each day. Included are striking photographs with a fresh,
contemporary design for timeless appeal.

Spiritually Strong The Ultimate 6-Week Guide to Building Your Body and Soul
By
Kristen Feola
Book Description
In Spiritually
Strong,
Kristen Feola, bestselling author of The
Ultimate Guide to the Daniel Fast shows
how through the regular practice of spiritual disciplines believers
will be strengthened and enabled to experience lasting joy and
satisfaction in the Lord.
Just
like physical muscles, the soul’s muscles need to work out
regularly to stay healthy. InSpiritually
Strong,
Kristen Feola guides readers through six disciplines for keeping
their spirits in good shape. Their spiritual core will be
strengthened as they:
- Study the Bible with greater depth and understanding.
- Pray with power.
- Discover the joyful intimacy of fasting.
- Honor God with their body through exercise and nutritious eating.
- Practice good stewardship with their resources.
- Serve others in humility as an outward demonstration of God’s love.
This
six-week program of spiritual exercises is easy to incorporate into
daily life, yet its effects will change lives forever as readers find
new energy for living out God’s calling.
My
Review
At
first I thought to myself yet another health or weight loss book, but
Spiritually Strong is not your average health book. Kristen uses her
gift of biblical teaching with her health and fitness background and
puts them together. The result is a wonderful way to approach these
topics which can often be very laborious. For those of us who need
all the motivation we can get to stay on our exercise and fitness
programs, this is a great book to help you connect what you do
physically with why you should do it and the effects it can have on
other aspects of your life, happiness, and well-being. This study
will remind you that it's not just about your outward appearance but
what's on the inside...caring for the whole person and becoming a
better vessel for JESUS CHRIST!
If
you are looking to get a better understanding of the Word and a
closer relationship with God, plus learn how to eat well and get some
exercise, this is the book for you! So many others tidbits
throughout. As Kristen says, "Spiritually AND Physically
strong"... You can't go wrong!!!
I
recommend this book to all women who struggle with their
weight and their view of themselves.

My
Review
When this Bible came in
the mail I was excited!!! Then I opened it and was even more excited!!! In the
front of this Bible there in a “How to Use this Bible” which is very helpful..
Then the first chapter
they start with Day 1 and there are a few verses that you read. At the end of
the verses you have just read follows there is a short verse from a different book
in the Bible….love it!!! Then in the back of this Bible there are helpful
things to note.
Example: Table of Weights and Measures explanation.
Another helpful thing
is a “Once-a-Day Canonical Index” which is very very cool!!!
There is the
explanation about the NIV version of the Bible
And there is also a
Yearly Reading Plan which is AWESOME!!
I believe this Bible
helps you to know God and helps you to keep on track of a daily reading of the
Bible which we ALL need to do!!! It is broken down to a chapter or two to read
on a day but you are not overwhelmed by reading too much, this gives you more
time understand Gods Word…
The only two things I did
not like are the print size is too small for me and it is NIV version I prefer
KJV version…but I believe you can use the same format with other Bible versions.
All in all I HIGHLY recommend
this Bible for ALL to read DAILY!!!!!!!

Forever Christmas
By
Robert
Tate Miller
Book Description
This Christmas will change Andrew Farmer’s life forever. Andrew
can’t remember the last time he spent Christmas away from work. The end of the year
is crunch time for literary agents. But when your career is your life,
your life starts to suffer . . . beginning with your marriage. When a
heart-wrenching accident in a Christmas Eve snowstorm jars this high-powered
agent from his obsession with success, a Christmas miracle will give him a
second chance at love, life, and gratitude, but only if he can put aside his
own ambition and learn to appreciate each moment. Sometimes it takes a tragedy
to change a man’s life—and to teach him to treat every day as if it were his
last.
My Review
My Birthday is on CHRISTmas day and I also
enjoy a good book that helps me to remember to enjoy life every minute of every
day!!!
This book is a page-turner, easily read in one
sitting, but, I took a week to read it because I wanted to stretch it out It
puts the reader through many different emotions
It’s a remarkable, unpredictable story. With
that said, I wasn’t immediately drawn in. The first few chapters included more
telling than showing, and contained scant dialogue. But—and that’s a big
but—I’m delighted I kept reading. What a treat!.
A husband and wife couple is one that you could
read, maybe as you were reflecting on slowing down for the holidays. It was a
good reminder to me that every minute can count in our lives.

Appalachian town where she lives. Her mother insists that Bianca lower her

adventure, Bianca wins an essay contest that propels her into a whirlwind
search for the perfect hero.Via the opulence of London and the mysteries of Palestine,
Bianca's true love will be revealed—but not without a price that might be too
heavy to pay
My Review
This book by Brandy Vallance is unbelievable
for a first novel. This well-researched historical story has it all — a
wonderful sense of place and time, wonderfully developed characters, and a
twisting plot that will keep the reader on her toes. If this is what you get
with a first novel, I can’t wait to read more from Brandy Vallance. I
truly enjoyed reading this book!!!
I would
recommend this to anyone who enjoys reading!

NIV STREAMS IN THE DESERT BIBLE
Are you in a desert experience? Let your thirsty soul be restored
and refreshed through the daily devotions in the NIV
Streams in the Desert Bible.
At some point in our lives, we encounter the trials and deep mysteries of the Christian faith. And when we do become like a thirsty traveler, what we most desire is for hope, comfort, and encouragement to burst forth like a sparkling, clear river.
At some point in our lives, we encounter the trials and deep mysteries of the Christian faith. And when we do become like a thirsty traveler, what we most desire is for hope, comfort, and encouragement to burst forth like a sparkling, clear river.
The hopeful daily readings
in this Bible promise to revive and refresh you—one of today’s generation of
faithful sojourners—by providing daily devotions in modern, easy-to-understand
language that beautifully captures the timeless essence of the original. These
devotionals are presented alongside Scripture using the popular New
International Version of the Bible.
While the devotions
in this Bible were originally written by L. B. Cowman—a pioneer missionary in
Japan and China from 1901 to 1917—this devotional Bible has been edited by
James Reimann. It maintains the beauty of the original Cowman writings while
making the devotionals more accessible for the readers of today.
Features:
• Complete text of the clear, accessible NIV Bible
• 365 daily readings of strength and encouragement from L. B. Cowman
• Foreword by Jim Reimann
My Review
The "NIV Streams in the Desert Bible"
brings 365 days’ worth of "Streams in the Desert" devotions alongside
the NIV translation Bible text, with the devotions being near the Bible text
they refer to. Each devotion reading includes a month and day, giving readers
one year's worth of devotional readings. The devotions list a source of where
they came from, also. There are footnotes at the bottom of the Bible text
pages, giving readers more explanation about what they are reading. The back of
this specialty Bible includes a Table of Weights and Measures, Subject Index,
and blank "My Journey" pages for notes.
I liked that there is a note in the front of the Bible that explains that the "Streams in the Desert" devotions is not a replacement for the Bible text; and that now people can have the Bible text with them as they read through the "Streams in the Desert" devotions in this specialty Bible. I also liked how the Bible Table of Contents was right after the title page, making it easy for me to find.. I love the cover – absolutely beautiful! It is sturdy and easy to navigate. This Bible would make a beautiful gift or an addition to anyone’s Bible set. The only thing I did not like was that the print was a too small.
